WhatsApp Rolls Out New Features

WhatsApp rolls out new features

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, announced earlier this year that WhatsApp would add a feature called Communities. This feature would allow users to connect with groups that matter to them. People with similar interests are supposed to be brought together by the feature. Users will be able to access WhatsApp Communities starting 3rd November 2022. As part of the Communities feature rollout, WhatsApp will feature in-chat polls, 32-person video calls, and groups with up to 1024 members.

Communities on WhatsApp

WhatsApp communities allow people to bring separate groups under one umbrella with a structure that works for them. Updates can be sent and received by the entire community with this feature. Additionally, it will allow people to organize discussion groups on topics that are relevant to them. In addition to the newly added feature, admins will have access to a set of tools, such as announcements that are sent to everyone. Also, admins will have control over which groups can be included.

Users can start a brand-new community from scratch or add existing groups by following these steps. When you join a WhatsApp community, you can easily switch between groups, and admins can send timely updates to everyone in the group. There is end-to-end encryption in WhatsApp Communities.

1024-person group chat, 32-person video calls

You can now add up to 1024 people to a WhatsApp group. Currently, you can add no more than 200 people. Group video calls can also have up to 32 participants. Furthermore, WhatsApp now offers large file sharing, emoji reactions, and admin deletion, which would be extremely helpful in communities.

Take polls in the chat

In-chat polls were tested long before WhatsApp rolled them out. A separate screen within WhatsApp lets you add up to 12 possible answers to a question in chat polls. The feature’s appearance and functionality have not been revealed yet. Depending on which app store you use, you will have to update WhatsApp to get the latest features.

We are looking forward to using the newly rolled-out features. Does this excite you as well? Let us know in the comments!
